Bed bugs are a terrible “find” that every apartment owner can find. If you do not follow basic hygiene rules, parasites will multiply, harm your health and spoil good things. From the name you can understand that bugs settle preferably in a berth. But they are also often found under skirting boards, in the ceiling area and other inaccessible places. Why do bed bugs appear

If a neighbor is struggling with bedbugs, they will migrate to you through the front door, walls, ventilation, windows, etc. Therefore, if bugs are found, go to the people living in the neighborhood and clarify the situation. Perhaps the inhabitants poisoned the bugs, and those with a desire to live migrated to you in all possible ways.
2. Bedbugs can be easily "picked up" and brought into the house on outerwear, shoes, a bag, a fabric bag from a store, etc. They can also enter the apartment with pets, guests or builders who have recently renovated your property. Be carefull.
3. Bed bugs hide well enough, you will not find them right away. Most often they appear in an old sofa or bed, hiding in soft upholstery. Often parasites can be found in the old wardrobe.
4. Another location and the reason for the appearance include materials that in one way or another ended up in your house. We are talking about old pieces of wood, cardboard boxes, polystyrene, etc.
5. People who carefully monitor hygiene know firsthand that you should not settle in inexpensive hotels near the road or two-star hotels. Such places often accumulate many bugs that climb into a suitcase and move to your apartment.
6. Bed bugs can make themselves felt to residents who have just entered the acquired “secondary”. If the apartment has stood for a long time and sold second-hand, bed bugs can fall into suspended animation (prolonged sleep) for a period of six months to a year. When people enter the house, the parasites wake up and are actively awake.

Where bed bugs live

When it comes to bed bugs, they wake up at night. In the period from 3 to 5 hours, the peak of activity occurs. Lice are attracted by the warmth and smell of the human body, so when they get on the bed, they begin to bite and leave traces of their presence.

It is interesting that the bugs after piercing the skin stick to the body, while releasing a special solution for pain relief. That is, in fact, bites are not felt. In the morning only redness can be seen, this is the danger.

When dawn, bedbugs hide in hidden corners, trying to stay closer to bed. Favorite "caches" of lice are soft home decoration: pouf, chair, sofa, bed. Most often, bedbugs hide in the joints, stuffing, any small cracks. They can not be found in open space.

Technology for processing a room from bed bugs

1. Wash and wipe the dishes, pack them in sealed containers, remove them from the apartment. Take away toys, food, and all small items for a while. Carefully inspect things for larvae or large individuals.
2. Remove covers from sofas and armchairs, rugs, bedspreads, bedding, tablecloths, curtains, tulle and other textile products. Send them washed with powder and a disinfectant at a temperature of 45-60 degrees. If there is no way to wash everything at once, pack things in airtight (vacuum) bags so that bedbugs cannot spread throughout the apartment.
3. If in your arsenal there are things made of leather, fur, textiles that cannot be washed and soaked, wrap them in plastic film and take them out in the cold at a temperature of -20 degrees for 4-5 hours. Or you can withstand things in the heat at a temperature of + 30-50 degrees. There is also another way to handle such things - buy an insecticidal spray, it is not toxic.
4. If possible, take out the old items of upholstered furniture or throw them away, the second option is preferable. Lift and carpets, twist and take to dry cleaning. Remove the pictures, wipe, pack and clean away from the processing site.
5. Go through the books and get rid of the infected ones. Remove the skirting boards from the floor and ceiling, wipe the places under them with bleach. Move upholstered furniture from the walls. Find all the nests of the parasites and eliminate them as soon as possible with a solution of chlorine and water.
6. Choose a chemical or folk remedy for processing. Thoroughly spray the rear walls of armchairs and sofas, all ventilation grills, visible and invisible slots, window sills, sinks, radiators, doorways, etc. Treat the walls as follows: around 1 meter from the floor and half a meter from the ceiling, it is not necessary to touch the middle.
7. When the drug is applied, clog all doors with windows. Depending on the product, it must be valid from 4 hours to 3 days. Leave the premises at this time.
8. After the allotted time, ventilate the rooms, wash all surfaces with a strong soda solution (about 1 liter of water accounts for about 700 grams of soda). If necessary, re-processing is carried out after a week.

Folk remedies for bed bugs

1. Vinegar. Buy a 9% essence or vinegar solution in advance. It should be understood that folk remedies you will not destroy the parasites, but only slightly scare. Treat all cracks, vents, ventilation, doorways, cabinets, upholstered furniture and other places with possible bugs. Dilute vinegar with water: 1 liter. water accounts for 700 ml. vinegar. Processing is carried out three times a day for 4-5 days.
2. Herbs. If you need to safely get rid of parasites, use medicinal plants with a specific smell. These include chamomile, wormwood, valerian, tea tree, tansy, etc. It is allowed to use both the herbs themselves and divorced tinctures based on them. Wipe the area with a damp cloth, spray a solution of oil with water from a spray bottle, or lay out plants around the apartment.
3. Turpentine with kerosene. Grate half a bar of household or tar soap on a fine-grained grater, dilute 145 ml. boiling water, wait for dissolution. Inject 20 ml. kerosene, 20 ml. turpentine. Wet a sponge or brush in this solution, and treat the places where parasites are found. You can spray the composition on the furniture. After processing, leave the room for a day. Then carry out wet cleaning and repeat the action if necessary after 3 days.

Bedbug Chemicals

To achieve maximum results and completely eliminate the problem, it is advisable to use insecticides. Such formulations are most often sold in the form of powder, solution and aerosol. Chemical reagents perfectly cope with the task, completely destroying pests.

Chlorpyrifos
The substance is available in the form of a liquid in capsule form. Dilute the drug with water in a ratio of 1 to 5. The finished composition needs to be treated all the affected areas in the room and the movement of insects.

Chemical microcapsules stick to the bugs and fall into the lair of insects. As a result, parasites die. The activity of a chemical substance lasts up to 1 year. Such a composition is completely safe for humans and animals. The product is odorless.

Fenthion
Most often, the drug is available in liquid form. The composition is packaged in small bottles. The concentrate must be mixed with water. Further, the product is sprayed throughout the room and surfaces.

The drug is absolutely safe and harmless to humans and animals. The composition does not have a characteristic odor. Fenthion can safely handle bedding, clothes, textiles, books.

Cypermethrin or pralletrin
Such products are available exclusively in the form of aerosols. It is enough to spray the composition on all surfaces. Chemical raw materials remain in the active phase for 2 weeks.

The drug is most often used in the fight against bedbugs in a small amount. Consider, it has a pungent smell. Therefore, do not forget to use protective equipment.

Permethrin
The chemical reagent is in the form of a powder. The composition should be scattered in the active habitat of the parasites. It will not be superfluous to process the thresholds and window sills.

In order for the composition to show maximum effect, it must be distributed in all places. After that, wet cleaning is recommended. The composition is toxic, often causes migraines and dizziness.
